In keeping with its passion for public awareness and social concern, the Madras Medical Mission organized a week long celebration to observe World Heart Week. This was started off by a Walk–a-Thon where the students of the MMM college of Health Sciences and the MMM college of Nursing and hospital staff participated in a two km long walk toward the Madras Medical Mission from the Vee Care hospital on the 100 ft road. This event was flagged off by the Hon’ble Minister of Electricity and Rural Industries,   Thiru Arcot N. Veerasamy. During the walk, participants would hold flags and banners that would illustrate the theme and spread awareness messages on cardiac ailments and issues.
