Chennai, Feb. 04 Zylog Systems Limited today launched its state-of-the-art facility at a cost of Rs 30 crore at IT corridor in Sholinganallur near here.
Talking to newsreporters here, Company Chairman and CEO Sudarshan said the new facility spreads over 1.1 acres of land and would be Zylog's biggest facility in India.This is the company's second facility in the city. A third facility is being set up at Siruseri at an investment of Rs 43 crore, which would be operational by 2009, he said.
The Siruseri unit will employ 1,400 persons, he said.
Zylong Systems is also in the process of acquiring two firms in Middle East, which it hopes to complete soon, he added.
This new facility will have a headcount of 850 employees, he added.
He said the new facility also marked the establishment of Innovative Development of Enterprise Application (IDEA) lab, an high-tech software research and development center.
The IDEA lab would provide value added R and D outsourcing services with 50 distinguishd engineers to create competency excellence in various cutting edge technologies such as Web 2.0/3.0, VoIP/Unified Communications, Wi-MAX/Fixed Mobile Convergence, SOA and RFID, he claimed.
"The IDEA lab is set to release its first set of business solutions during the Microsoft Convergence 2008 in US", he added.
Mr Sudarshan said the new facility was expected to yield revenue to the tune of Rs 135 crore during the next fiscal.
"This facility would also hold a new portfolio of solutions for the consumer electronics industry through a strategic partnership with National Service Alliance (NSA),'' he added.
"Besides this, we would like to announce that four major initiatives will be launched for allied consumer electronic enterprises in the coming weeks", he said.
"These have been diligently validated against the current challenges by broad spectrum of consumer electronics professionals to ensure success and adoption by the industry," he added.
During the next fiscal, the Company would open another facility costing Rs 44 crore with a built-in area of 1,25,00 sq ft in Chennai. - Staff Reporter
