Chennai, Sept 21: A computer engineer, Lalit Mohan (30), and a pedestrian, Maria (42), were killed when a water tanker hit a couple of cars on Butt Road in Chennai this morning. Both of them died on the spot.
Lalit Mohan had landed only some minutes ago at the Meenambakkam airport from Saudi Arabia where he worked. Two of his cousins had come to the airport to receive him. Lalit Mohan was driving the car towards their house when the water tanker hit their car. While Lalit Mohan died on the spot, his cousins suffered injuries and were admitted to hospital for treatment.
The driver of the water tanker is absconding. AC Velladurai is investigating the case. (Our Correspondent)
