Puducherry,Nov 19 : The first meeting of the Parliamentary Consultative Committee in respect of Departments allocated to Welfare Minister P Rajavelu was convened here today.

According to an official release, members of the Committee are invited along with Secretaries of Head of Departments and Chairmen of various Corporations / Board, Secretary to Legislative Assembly to evaluate the ongoing schemes implemented by Social Welfare Department, Adi Dravidar Welfare Department, Women and Child Welfare Department, Labour and Tourism Department and also to chalk out the modalities to bring new schemes for the Welfare of all the people within the allocated budget.

As tourism is the core sector to generate more revenue,the schemes formulated under the Central Sponsored Scheme (C.S.S) was discussed in detail so as to attract the tourists to the Union Territory of Puducherry by availing Central fund. Mr P Rajavelu presided over the function.
