Eluru (AP), Nov 3 Four workers were killed after
a wall collapsed on them at a rural job scheme site in Andhra
Pradesh's West Godavari district today, police said.
The workers were digging a drain under the National
Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (NREGS) at Gollala Koderu
village when the incident occurred, officials said.
One labourer suffered serious injuries and was
admitted to a government hospital in nearby Bhimavaram town,
they added.
The state government has announced an ex-gratia of Rs
2 lakh each to the kin of the deceased.
In another incident in the same district, two persons
drowned and as many went missing while taking a bath in the
sea at Perupalem on the occasion of 'Kartik Purnima'
yesterday, police said. - (Agencies)
