Bangalore, Nov 27 : Bangalore based BHEL's Industrial Systems Group (ISG) has achieved another milestone by successfully completing the capacity augmentation of High Current Rectifier System of Aluminium Smelter for Hindalco Industries Ltd., Hirakud, Odisha.

The Capacity augmentation of the High Current Rectifier System, originally built by Westinghouse decades ago, at Hindalco envisages better availability of Aluminium Smelter and enhanced productivity, according to a BHEL release here today. BHEL-ISG pioneers in providing total business solutions-from concept to commissioning-for a variety of industries and utilities like 'Electricals & Automation Systems' and 'Raw Material Handling Systems' for Industries and bulk material handling including 'Coal & Ash Handling Plants' for thermal power plants.

Hindalco Industries had ordered for capacity augmentation of entire system from 55kA to 85 kA as part of process conversion from HSS to pre-bake Pots by progressively augmenting all individual units from 10.6kA to 16 kA.
