3 held for oil pilferage, Rs.9.20 lakh seized

    

Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh, Dec 21 : The Special Investigation Team constituted by SP Sivasankar Reddy into the series of incidents of oil pilferage from the oil terminals in Vakalapudi on the city outskirts recently has achieved a breakthrough and arrested three persons, including two employees of the Indian oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) and the transport contractor.

The investigation has revealed that the oil pilferage was going on with the connivance and involvement of the company employees for the past several months. The team led by Sub Divisional Police Officer B Sai Sri today arrested G. Purushottham Reddy, Senior Transport Manager, M. Vasudeva Rao, Security Supervisor and Sidda Sudhir Kumar Transport Contractor.

The accused have confessed to their involvement. A sum of Rs.9.20 lakhs being the sale amount of the pilfered diesel and furnace oils was also seized from their possession. They will be produced before the court tomorrow', police said in a press release here today.
