Somdev, Sanam in Charlottesville ATP quarters

    
New Delhi, Nov 6 Ace Indian Somdev Devvarman and compatriot Sanam Singh entered the quarterfinal of USD 50,000 Virginia National Bank ATP Challenger tennis tournament at Charlottesville.

Third seed Somdev quelled late challenges before beating Davis Cupper Izak Van Der Merwe of South Africa 6-2, 1-6, 6-2 in second round, while Sanam defeated USA's Scoville Jenkinson 1-6, 7-6 (1), 6-4, yesterday.

In the final-eight stage, Somdev would take on Matwe Middelkoop of the Netherlands, who beat Ryan Harrison of USA 1-6, 6-3, 6-2.

On the other hand, Sanam would face tough challenge from second seed, USA's Kevin Kim, who overcame Paraguay's Ramon Delagado 1-6, 6-2, 6-1.
