India, Nepal to discuss activities of Maoists, FICN

New Delhi, Nov 4 Activities of Maoists along the border, smuggling of fake Indian currency notes and border management are high on the agenda at the Home Secretary level talks between India and Nepal beginning in Kathmandu on Friday.

Home Ministry sources said the Indian delegation, led by Home Secretary G K Pillai, will seek cooperation from the Himalayan nation on all security issues, especially Maoists and FICN, during the two-day meeting.

India will try to chalk out a strategy with its eastern neighbour on issues relating to internal security and management of 1,751-km-long porous border.

Govind Prasad Kusum, Home Secretary of Nepal, will lead the delegation at the talks.

India had expressed concern over the growing problem of circulation of fake currency notes to Nepal Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal during his visit here in August.
