Bangalore-bound Gandhidham Exp derails in Maharashtra

Mumbai, Nov 4 Twelve coaches of Bangalore-bound Gandhidham Express derailed at Bhiwandi in neighbouring Thane district early today, injuring two passengers.

"Twelve coaches of Gandhidham express were derailed when the train was approaching Bhiwandi in Thane district. Two passengers sustained minor injuries," Central Railways PRO A K Jain told PTI.

Another train was sent to the incident site and the passengers of Gandhidham Express were shifted into it, he said.

The train has left for Bangalore, Jain said, adding that relief works are on.

This incident will, however, not affect the local train services in Central and Harbour railway lines, he added.
