Mysore, Oct 9 : Members of Dejagow Jnanavahini Academy Trust and Mysore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) today took out a procession protesting against release of Cauvery water to Tamil Nadu.
Addressing the agitators' Trust President and Kannada literteur Dejegowda blamed the Congress, which has ruled the country for most part since independece, responsible for not solving the Cauvery water sharing issue. Alleging that the Prime Minister was appeasing Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa to get support from AIADMK, Mr Deve Gowda stressed the need for implementing the Mahajan report and took the Centre to task for failing to implement the report, which would set to rest most of the inter-State disputes.
He alleged that Dr Manmohan Singh's order for the release of Cauvery water to Tamil Nadu was purely political in nature and stressed the need for regional political parties in the State to tackle such issues. About 60 members of Ashodaya Samithi took out a protest rally from Dalvoy school to Gandhi Square. While Members of Karnataka Rakshna Vedike (Swambhimana faction) staged a rasta roko near Hootagali.
