Hyderabad, Nov 16: Telugu Desam Party (TDP) senior leader and former Assembly Speaker Yanamala Ramakrishnudu today said he would contest for Lok Sabha in the next election if the party permits.
Talking to reporters during the party's padayatra in Ranga Reddy district, Mr.Yanamala, who was accompanied with the party's supremo N.Chandrabadu Naidu, said that the party began the process of selecting candidates for Assembly constituencies and signaled that the TDP is gearing up for next polls, expecting in advance in Andhra Pradesh state and also too at the centre.
As per the BC declaration announced earlier, the party would give enough represenation to the BCs, SC, STs in the next elections, TDPs politburo member said and adding 40 per cent of the seats would be earmarked for the youth and 100 Assembly seats for the Backward Classes announced in the party's declaration earlier.
The party's election monitoring committee would meet its President Mr.Naidu shortly and discuss the issues, he added. Meanwhile, the party , this evening announced to conduct the Rashtra vistrutha Samvesam at Veerlapally, Chevella assembly constituency in Ranga Reddy tomorrow , and Naidu will deliver his inagural address.
