The foundation announced the collaboration under corporate social responsibility initiative of global construction and mining equipment manufacturer Caterpillar, USA,.

Through the tie-up, infrastructural needs of government schools in Tiruvallur, Hosur and Krishnagiri districts would be taken care of, a press release here said.

Thirteen schools in these districts were selected based on a survey conducted by the Smile Foundation, it said.

The quality of education to underprivileged children studying in the state's government schools would also be enhanced through this partnership, it said.

In the first phase, schools in Kadamhathur, Vengathur, Melnallathur, Manvalanagar, Ikkad, VM Nagar were selected for infrastructure development, the release added. - Agencies
