TN outplay Odisha:gain seven points from innings victory

    

Chennai, Nov20 : Host Tamil Nadu A outplayed Odisha crushing them by an innings and 23 runs and gained seven points in elite Group B on the fourth and final day of the C All India K Naidu cricket championship here today.

After Tamil Nadu declared their first innings closed at495-8 in 155.3 overs, their overnight score, Odisha who were trailing by 200 runs, collapsed for 177 in 50 overs. Tamil Nadu bowlers dominated and only three Odisha batsmen including no 8 batsman Bibhudatta pandey struck a purple patch top scoring with 73 off 61 balls. His aggressive batting was topped with five fours and as many as eight sixes. His ninth wicket stand of 51 runs with Sukanta Das (13, 36 bls, two fours) only delayed Tamil Nadu's triumph.

Earlier, opener Giruja Rout scored 23 (five fours) and no 3 batsman Arabind Singh scored 47 off 97 balls, four fours, two sixes). For Tamil Nadu tweake A C Parthibhan(4-38) emerged as the most successful bowler while medium pacers Sunil Sam and M Prabhu claimed two wickets apiece. Breif Scores: Odisha 293 and 177, Tamil Nadu 493 for 8 decl.
