Unnikrishnan welcomes hanging Kasab though there is delay

Bangalore, Nov 21 : Mr Unnikrishnan, father of Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan who was killed while fighting against terrorist in 26/11 Mumbai attack, today welcomed hanging Mohamed Ajmal Kasab at Yerwada Jail in Pune.

In his reaction to press here, he however said that 'certainly it is a delay because he was caught red handed long back, but never the less I am happy the families and relatives who were killed must be happy on his execution.' When asked whether justice to the 26/11 terrorist attack of mumbai had been rendered with the hanging of Kasab, Mr Unnikrishnan said that 'it is not a question of justice rendered. He was an accused, he deserved to be punished.

He was not a terrorist, just an agent of those people who wanted to kill innocent people in India. Kasab had one it just for money.' To a question, he said that 'I don't tell whether I feel satisfaction or not, but I liked the 'secrecy' maintained by the Government of India in handling the case.'Asked whether he want the main conspirator should be nabbed, Mr Unnikrishnan said 'it is not in my hand cannot give any message to Pakistan, but Indian government is strong enough to nab whoever behind the act and take more steps to take forward. People in Pakistan should also understand that we should not kill innocent people. If they want to wage a war let them do so in the war field but not indulge in such heinous act of killing innocents.' Thirty one year old Sandeep Unnikrishnan, was a Major in the Indian Army serving in the elite Special Action Group of the National Security Guards (NSG).

He was killed in action while fighting terrorists in the November 2008 Mumbai attacks. His bravery was honoured with the Ashoka Chakra, India's highest peace time gallantry award, on 26 January 2009.Parents of Poustin Martis, who was killed in 26/11 Mumbai attack by terrorists, expressed their happiness over Kasab's hanging.

Father Alex Martis said that though there is delay, it has put an end to criticism that crores of rupees were spent to maintain him. Mr Poustin Martis, who hailed from Mudabile in Udupi District, had been working as Manager in Taj Hotel since 22 years when he was killed by terrorists.
