India loses to Chinese Taipei in Asian Rugby 7s

New Delhi, Nov 3 Indian men put up a valiant fight after their dismal start to reach the Bowl Division final but failed to cross the last hurdle, going down to Chinese Taipei in the Asian Rugby 7s Circuit in Borneo.

The visitors lost 0-19 to Chinese Taipei in the final yesterday.

Skipper Naseer Hussain led from the front to register a morale-boosting win over Brunei 19-0 yesterday before their all important final clash against formidable Chinese Taipei.

India left Brunei totally clueless with their excellent passing and ground work and Rohaan Sethna, Nasser Hussain and Dhananjay Prasad scored to raise for the team.

However, in the bowl final, it was an one-sided affair as the visitors failed to match the fast pace game displayed by Chinese Taipei.

On Sunday, India had lost their opening encounter against aggressive China 0-45 and later to Chinese Taipei 0-24.
