Dharmapuri (TN), Nov 24: Tension prevailed in the town after an AIADMK cadre was killed here allegedly by a rival group following an altercation over filing of nomination for party organisational elections at the district level today.
K Veeramani, brother of former AIADMK town unit secretary K Ravi, was fatally assaulted allegedly by supporters of outgoing secretary S R Vetrivel at the party's district office following a wordy duel, police said.
Trouble broke out when Veeramni and his supporters were prevented from filing nominations for the town wing posts against Vetrivel and his group, police said.
