Pande takes over as SCR GM

Hyderabad, Apr 10: Mr Devi Prasad Pande has taken over the charge of General Manager, South Central Railway (SCR) here today. A SCR Release here said Mr Pande was the Additional Member (Traffic), Railway Board, New Delhi prior to his posting as SCR GM. He succeeds Mr Ashok Kumar Mital who has been working as Incharge General Manager of SCR. Mr Prasad Pande did his MA in Modern History from Allahabad University. An Officer of Indian Railways Traffic Service (IRTS) of 1977 batch, he has rich and varied experience in Operations and Commercial branches and has held several important executive and managerial posts on Indian Railways. Earlier, he worked as Deputy Chief Operations Manager, Chief Passenger Traffic Manager and Chief Freight Traffic Manager in Northern Railway. He worked in Railway Board as Executive Director / Planning where he dealt the subjects of Five Year Plans, Corporate Plans, Annual Plans and formulation of Budget of Indian Railways. Mr Pande also worked as Divisional Railway Manager, Bhopal Division from 2004 to 2006 where he introduced several innovations and changes in working. Again, he was posted in Railway Board and held several key posts such as Executive Director/Traffic Transportation (Movement), Adviser (Marketing & Logistics), Advisor/ Traffic Transportation (Movement) before his promotion as Additional Member (Traffic) in April, 2012. He is the recipient of the prestigious Railway Minister's Award and an avid reader and has keen interest in writing and sporting activities, the release said.
