Prakash wins in singles, out of doubles in Korea Challenger

New Delhi, Nov 3 Prakash Amritraj stunned fifth seed and local favourite Kyu Tae IM to advance to the singles second round of the ATP Challenger event in Chuncheon, Korea but his campaign in the doubles was cut short in the opening round itself.

Unseeded in the singles, Prakash shocked his fifth seed opponent 7-6(2) 6-2 in the opening round of the USD 1,00,000 hard court event.

He will next play Latvian Andis Juska, who sent packing Korean wild card Sang-Woo Noh 6-2 6-3 in the first round.

However, a disappointing result was in store for Prakash in the doubles as he and his American partner Alex Kuznetosv suffered a 3-6 4-6 defeat at the hands of second seeded South African-Dane pair of Rik de Voest and Frederik Nielsen in the first round.
