Jammu, Nov 5 Migrants in the Jammu region today
staged a dharna in front of the Raj Bhavan here protesting
against alleged denial of permission to meet Union Home
Minister P Chidambaram during his yesterday's visit.
The protesters said they wanted to meet the minister to
submit a memorandum demanding urgent intervention of state
governor to ensure them relief measures as provided to
migrants in the Kashmir region in accordance with a Supreme
Court order in 2006, official sources said.
Leaders of Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party
(JKNPP) were also present in the dharna.
Chidambaram had yesterday visited the satellite
township being raised for Kashmiri migrants at Jagti in
Nagrota, 15 km from here. A total of 2,160 flats are
