Whatmore is Knight Riders' new coach: Ganguly

    
Kolkata, Nov 05 Even though the owners of the team are yet to make an official announcement, Kolkata Knight Riders' seniormost player Sourav Ganguly has confirmed that Austrlian Dav Whatmore will be the Indian Premier League side's next coach.

Ganguly, who is strongly tipped to return as the captain of of Knight Riders in the third edition of the IPL, said the team think-tank had informed him about Whatmore's appointment.

"I was told that Whatmore will be our next coach. I know him for a long time. It will be exciting to work with him.

Whatmore is very experienced and I'm looking forward to his association," the former India captain said yesterday.

However, Knight Riders chief executive officer Joy Bhattacharya refused to confirm the development, saying he was not in a position to speak on the matter.
