TN crush Maha by 104 runs, gain 6 points

    

Chennai, Nov 20 : Tamil Nadu completed the formalities of registering their first outright victory crushing Maharashtra by 104 runs in their third Group B Ranji Trophy Cricket Championship match on the fourth and final day, here today.

At the M A Chidambaram Stadium here, resuming at the overnight score of 75 for 8 chasing 192, Maharashtra were all out for 88 in 38 overs with overnight batsman Askhay Darekar falling to off spinner Malolan for 3 off 23 balls. Then Samad Falla fell to left arm spinner Aushik Srinivas for 8 off 14 balls. Ankit Bowne remained not out for 24 off 81 balls with two 4s. For Tamil Nadu off spinner Malolan Rangarajan claimed three wickets for 34 runs and Aushik Srinivas 3 for 15.

Malolan Rangarajan who also rescued Tamil Nadu with the bat and took wicket was declared man of the match. Tamil Nadu garnered six full points from this match and now have eight from three games. Maharashtra's points tallies remained one from their first game against Uttar Pradesh earlier. Brief Score: TN 276 and 149, Maharashtra 233 and 88 (Ankit Bowne not out 24), A Srinivas 3 for 15, A Rangarajan 3-34, Yo Mahesh 2-10.
