Bangalore, Nov 5 Karnataka Minister Shobha
Karandlaje, whose scalp is being demanded by the dissidents
gunning for Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa's ouster, today
said she would resign "if the party asks for it".
"I am a loyal party worker. If the party wants me to
quit, I will oblige", Karandlaje, Minister for Rural
Development and Panchayat Raj, a confidante of Yeddyurappa,
told PTI here.
The rebels led by Tourism Minister Janardhana Reddy have
alleged excessive interference in administration by
Karandlaje, whose removal has been offered by the party
central leadership as part of a compromise formula to end the
turmoil in the BJP's first government in the south.
Karandlaje, the lone woman minister, said she has not
offered to resign on her own "as of now". - (Agencies)
