Jammu, Nov 5 The Centre today said that it has
sanctioned Rs 240 crore for super-specialities in capital
cities of Jammu and Srinagar in the state.
Stating this during inspection of construction site of
super-speciality hospital here, union minister for Health and
Family Welfare Ghulam Nabi Azad said that strengthening the
health infrastructure in Jammu and Kashmir is one of the
priorities of his ministry.
Appreciating the state government for taking keen
interest in developing health infrastructure on modern lines,
Azad assured that funds will be no problem for expansion of
healthcare facilities throughout the state.
The minister said that he will fully support the state
government in implementation of various programmes under
National Rural Health Mission.
Accompanied by Jammu and Kashmir minister for Health and
Horticulture Sham Lal Sharma, Azad also visited emergency unit
of Government Medical College Jammu and the new block of
Gandhi Nagar Hospital here. - (Agencies)
