Chennai, Nov 20 : The city-based premier skills development company Laurus Edutech today introduced a certificate course for imparting technical training for the under privileged women in the vocation of beauty, hair care and mehandi (henna) application.
The 200 hour course was launched in association with Godrej Consumer Products Limited, a Laurus Edutech release said. The programme aimed at product training, corporate grooming to train both amateurs and qualified professionals would cost Rs 2000 and was open to candidates above 14 years of age. "School dropouts also can join the course either as full time or part time programme. The course would be offered by the beauty centers in the city and covers a wide range of holistic beauty treatments and related trainings from personal and Salon Hygiene to Spa treatments.
The First batch commences by the end of month. The programme package included career guidance workshop, entrepreneur development workshop, placements of students in nearby industry, establishing alumina association of the old students, lectures of successful entrepreneurs, industry and market visit of students, soft skill lectures and others. After the program, trainees would be awarded a joint certificate by Laurus and Godrej for beauty and hair care along with a beauty kit worth the fee of the course and placements would be provided within two to three weeks after completion of the course.
The training to be imparted by Laurus Edutech was part of Godrej Group's 'Good and Green' employability initiative to train one million rural and urban youth in skilled employment under the unique program 'Godrej Saloni', Mr Srinivas Rao Cheedella, Managing Director of Laurus Edutech said.
